At the State of Colorado, we recognize Artificial Intelligence (AI), in its many forms [i.e. Generative AI (GenAI), Machine Learning (ML), agentic AI, and other specialized fields] has the power to improve public services and contribute significantly to the well-being of all Coloradans.
Through early explorations, including the Google Gemini Pilot, we have identified potential opportunities to increase productivity, drive innovation and develop new employee capabilities. Although AI presents many opportunities, it’s essential to acknowledge that there are critical challenges, specifically concerning data privacy, security and the need to maintain human judgment and oversight as we responsibly deploy AI tools across the state.
OIT is committed to empowering every state user with the knowledge to navigate this evolving landscape, as resources to increase AI literacy and optimize how we use these innovative and powerful tools for the benefit of the public.
